The Drums - Days (Trentemøller Remix)

End Year Chart / Best Songs of 2011

A little bit later then it should here is the list of 30 songs that I have listened and loved most in 2011. Metronomy is here with three songs including the absolutely most gorgeous "The Bay" on number 1 spot. OUI FM is playing this song endlessly, keep on, I don't mind :)

Araabmuzik - I Remember

When lush and sparkling Araabmuzik at the end of the song declares "I remember" you really have a feeling that something familiar has appeared in front of your ears that you have always known   .

Future Islands - Balance

Timber Timbre - Black Water

OK Go - Needing/Getting

The new music video from OK Go, made in partnership with Chevrolet. OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they'd play the right note no matter where they were struck. For more information and behind-the-scenes footage, see http://www.LetsDoThis.com and http://www.okgo.net. Many thanks to Chevy for believing in and supporting such an insane and ambitious project, and to Gretsch for providing the guitars and amps.

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die (Woodkid & The Shoes Remix)

Lana Del Rey's hit single Born To Die gets exclusively remixed by the great Woodkid and The Shoes.

Lana Del Ray - Video Games (Jamie Woon Remix)

There is something with that James name and this clean dubstep.

Radiohead - Staircase

Four Tet - Locked

Four Tet is at his best when he's making "simple music". Enjoy.

Air - Seven Stars

Air with new song Seven Stars is accompanied by Victoria Legrand from Beach House.

Andrew Bird - Eyeoneye

Andrew Bird will release new album which I will certainly take a listen to. Back in 2005, his "Mysterious Egg Production" was the most listened one in my music player. Until March when this release will see the light of day here is "Eyeoneye", the first single.

The Cinematic Orchestra - Entr'acte

Soundtrack by The Cinematic Orchestra for René Clair's 1924 short film 'Entr'acte', released on Motion Audio Records.

Soundtrack & Film available digitally now from the Ninjashop and iTunes.

Telepathe - Throw Away This

I enjoyed Dance Mother album from Telepathe two years with great minimal indie songs So Fine and In Your Line. This single continues with similar sound, maybe somewhat a bit upbeat. While b-side Destroyer is just average nice, Throw Away This is a pure hit.
